Gilpin Spice in the Lake District is seeking a Chef de Partie to join our vibrant, open‑kitchen pan‑Asian brigade. You’ll run your section with precision, prepare bold, flavour‑forward dishes, and support the senior team to maintain the highest standards in a fast‑paced kitchen.

This role offers growth within a Michelin‑key awarded hotel and Relais & Châteaux community, with 50‑hour weeks, meals on shift, and generous gratuities.

Qualifications

• Experience in pan-Asian, Michelin‑recommended, or high-end dining environments.
• Confidence, organisation, and calm when running a section.
• Ability to prepare and cook dishes to consistently high standards.
• Supportive, positive leadership for junior chefs.
• Impeccable cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
• Curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love of flavour‑driven cooking.
• A desire to grow within a modern, energetic restaurant inspired by the Spice Trail.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of your section, preparing vibrant, flavour‑forward dishes with accuracy, consistency, and pride.
• Work closely with senior chefs to maintain high standards, contribute to menu development, and uphold the organisation and discipline.
• Train, guide, and support junior chefs, helping build skill, confidence, and professional growth.
• Contribute to a calm, disciplined, and collaborative working environment, even within a lively open‑kitchen setting.
• Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, organisation, and presentation.
• Collaborate with the wider restaurant team to ensure smooth, efficient service and a memorable guest experience.
