Job description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a PAMS Senior Practitioner within the Specialist Assessment Team to work full-time based in Medway.

The salary for this role is up to £56,615 per annum.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide assessments over extended periods of eight to twelve weeks, using an interactive approach with a strong emphasis on education.
  2. Provision of Mid-Point Review Reports and Final Parenting Assessment Reports that advise on parental capacity and make recommendations about permanency arrangements for children.
  3. Collaborate with family support staff and other professionals involved in assessments and interventions for parents and carers with learning difficulties or additional needs.
  4. Manage a complex caseload of assessments and interventions, ensuring adherence to reflective supervision, clear objectives, and outcome measures to promote positive outcomes for children.
  5. Demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations, assessing and managing higher levels of risk, and working collaboratively with children, young people, and families.
  6. Work with children and families facing diverse and complex issues such as mental health, disability, substance misuse, domestic abuse, exploitation, radicalisation, poverty, discrimination, and immigration.
  7. Provide expert advice and support to less experienced staff, ensuring high standards of practice.
  8. Contribute to the learning and development of colleagues through supervision, training, and acting as a Practice Assessor.
  9. Prepare clear, structured reports for meetings, court proceedings, and reviews within prescribed timescales.
  10. Participate in performance reviews and contribute to team development plans.
  11. Perform other activities as agreed by the Head of Service, consistent with the role.
Requirements:
  • A social work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
