Te Mahi/About the Position

We have a 0.8FTE permanent position available, as part of our specialist palliative care multi-disciplinary community team.

The palliative care specialist nurse is a senior nursing role; responsible for providing excellence in clinical care and liaison, for patients and whānau with complex palliative care needs. It embraces physical, social, emotional, and spiritual elements of wellbeing - tinana, whānau, hinengaro and wairua - aimed at enhancing quality of life.

He momo/About you

Important to this role is the ability to work in collaborative partnership with district nurses and general practice teams, as the primary providers of palliative care. The successful candidate will have advanced clinical assessment skills, in prioritising and coordinating reviews of patients with complex palliative needs. Alongside this an ability to build clinical networks and maintain excellent relationships with other health professionals.

If you have 4 years post registration experience, with comprehensive knowledge of palliative care and community practice, and looking towards a post graduate qualification, with a full driver license you may be who we are looking for.
