This is an in-person position primarily located at the Palliative Care outpatient practice in Scarborough, ME, with regular presence at the MMC Portland Palliative Care space (typically once per week). The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, with no weekends or evenings required.
In addition to overseeing the daily clinical workflows of our inpatient and outpatient teams, the RN Practice Manager also serves as an integral member of the Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Team which delivers patient- and family-centered care to individuals living with serious illness. The goal of Palliative Care is to maximize quality of life and align the individual's medical care with what matters most to them. The ideal candidate will bring strengths and interests in building cohesive teams, promoting patient and family focused care, and demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of the practice.
Summary:
The Palliative Care Practice Manager RN provides oversight of the acute palliative care practice using operational and clinical expertise. The position enhances inpatient workflows and efficiencies to maximize provider billable hours. The position oversees day-to-day operations and acts as a liaison between providers, clinicians, and administrative staff. The position will also play a significant role in the operational infrastructure of ambulatory and community based palliative care services. In addition, the position plays an active role in patient navigation and regularly consults with clinical staff on patient issues. The position will also assist in the budget and goal setting processes.
