A healthcare provider is seeking a qualified counsellor to join their Specialist Palliative Care team in Salford. The role involves providing counselling for patients with life-limiting diagnoses and offering clinical supervision to healthcare workers. This is a position for a qualified counsellor to work flexibly across the Northern Care Alliance, providing a service for Salford residents. They will work within the Specialist Palliative Care team, and work with a selection of clients for assessment and ongoing counselling support to meet the individuals' needs. Clients will include people who have been given a life-limiting diagnosis, their significant others.
The post holder will provide counselling to adults who have been given a life-limiting diagnosis, and their significant others.
The post holder will work therapeutically with clients and their families in hospital or at a health centre.
The post holder will provide clinical supervision to healthcare workers within the palliative care, bereavement, and chaplaincy services as directed by the line manager.
They will manage their own caseloads and supervise more junior staff or students when required.
The post holder will support the learning and development of other Trust members by providing teaching sessions as directed by the line manager.
The post holder will be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of their own work and be able to work as part of a team.
