Job description

Role: Palletiser Operator – Added Value Department
Location: Doncaster Plant

We are seeking a Palletiser Operator to operate glass container packaging equipment, report malfunctions or defects, and ensure efficiency and quality in our production process.

Responsibilities:
  • Check that containers are packed using correct materials and labeled correctly to meet customer requirements and packaging specifications.
  • Observe packaging equipment and report any mechanical malfunctions or container defects to supervision.
  • Repair basic faults and jam-ups on packaging equipment when possible, or report immediately.
  • Complete and record APS checks for accurate reference.
  • Assist after job change to establish and maintain effective operation of packaging equipment.
  • Rework or repackage production as requested by the QC Foreman and maintain housekeeping standards in line with Health & Safety and Hygiene regulations.
  • Conduct quality checks through packed ware audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to interpret Packaging Specifications and manually pack glass containers during equipment failure.
  • Ability to operate Company fork trucks—training and license provided where applicable.
  • Good observation skills.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to basic mechanical malfunctions and container defects.
  • Familiarity with Cold End work areas and equipment.

  • Shift pattern based on a 5-crew rota, typically including two 12-hour day shifts, two 12-hour night shifts, followed by a six-day rest period, including 21 shifts holiday during the cycle.
