Job description

Job Title: Painting and Decorating Tutor in Prison Education

This is a full-time position based in North London, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of offenders through education.

Role Overview:

You will deliver Painting and Decorating courses, including tiling and drylining, to offenders as per the curriculum. No prior teaching experience is required; training will be provided after passing a probation period.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Organise and deliver training sessions to meet contractual obligations.
  2. Develop new initiatives and resources for education and training.
  3. Ensure a safe working environment in line with policies.
  4. Plan engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
  5. Maintain learner profiles, learning plans, and assessment records.
  6. Invigilate examinations and manage portfolios to meet quality standards.
Schedule & Salary:

37 hours per week, with a salary ranging from £28,000 to £36,500 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Candidate Requirements:
  • A relevant Degree or professional qualification.
  • Willingness to undertake a teaching qualification.
  • Knowledge of current teaching strategies.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
