Salary: Up to £34,249 per annum pro-rata dependent on experience and qualifications
Contract: 23.4 hours per week (Weekdays)

About the Role:
The Isle of Wight College are currently recruiting for a part-time Lecturer in Painting & Decorating, to bring their passion for this area to support our students studying at all levels from Level 1 to Level 3 to achieve their full potential.
Your innovative style and approach to learning will be demonstrated through your enthusiasm to motivate and inspire, tailoring your teaching to take account of the wide range of backgrounds and varied academic and vocational aspirations of our students.

Whilst we welcome applications from those currently teaching, for those from a purely industry background full support will be given from a highly dedicated team to help you achieve a teaching qualification through the College’s in-house teacher training programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver lessons to a range of classes, maintaining a high-quality student learning experience
Assess and mark students work, giving appropriate feedback (both written and orallly)
Maintain records of student’s progress and development in accordance with College and awarding body requirements
Undertaking academic tutorial duties, supporting students on an individual basis through academic difficulties
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to secure and maintain successful relationships
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally need:
·Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (or willingness to work towards with financial support from the College)
·A minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject
·Hold an endorsed teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards (with financial and educational support from the College)
·Demonstrable experience in painting and decorating ideally across a range of settings (residential, commercial and industrial)
·Demonstrable knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices within the trade.
·Experience delivering training or mentoring apprentices or junior trades people
·Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater for different levels and learning styles of learners
·Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with learners to ignite their passion for the areaA working knowledge of a student focused environment is desirable, but not essential
