Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council is recruiting a Plumber Multi Trade (Manual Labour) for a temporary assignment at Town Hall Annex, BH2 6EA. The role involves installing and maintaining level access showers and disabled adaptations, carried out to a high standard.

Working 39 hours per week, Mon–Fri, with a driving licence and your own tools. You will work via our call centre, using an iPad for scheduling, forms and inspections, and you will be subject to a Basic DBS check.

Formación

• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent experience).
• Driving licence required; own tools for domestic plumbing tasks.
• Experience in level access showers and disabled adaptations.
• Able to carry domestic plumbing, showers, waste pumps, radiator moves.
• Basic carpentry and tiling; training provided for plastering/dot-and-dab walls.
• DBS check required.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out domestic plumbing work including showers, waste pumps and radiator moves.
• Install level access showers and wet rooms; disabled adaptations.
• Perform basic carpentry for boxing and studwork; tiling finishes.
• Use iPad for scheduling, reporting and inspections; liaise with call centre.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent experience)

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS AND ATTRIBUTES

Have a valid and current driving licence.

Have your own tools required to undertake domestic plumbing, showers, waste pumps, radiator moves as well as basic carpentry to create boxing, occasional studwork, installing tuff form trays and some minor dot and dab plastering and bonding walls.

You are hardworking, enthusiastic, and willing to learn, with good people skills.

You are able to work on your own initiative.

Experience of working on Disability Adaptations is essentieal.

You will work from an I-Pad and all works will be populated from our call centre and scheduled by your planner.
The I-Pads are also used for many other applications, forms and inspection certification along with regular email communication.

All uniform and PPE will be provided.

You don’t have any unspent criminal convictions.

**This position is subject to a Basic DBS check**

REQUIRED SKILLS

Proven experience in level access showers, wet room fitting, disabled adaptations work.

Will need to be able to carry domestic plumbing, showers, waste pumps, radiator moves.

Will need to be able to carry basic carpentry, to create boxing, occasional studwork, installing tuff form trays.

Will need to have exceptional tiling skills, completing all types tiling to a good standard including Mosaic border tiles.

Some experience of minor plastering to be able to dot and dab walls and bonding walls if required but training on this can be provided.

Ability to screed to a fall for level access showers in solid floors but training can be provided on this.

NVQ or City & Guilds trade relevant qualifications or on job experience
