Job summary

North East Combined Authority is seeking two skilled Painters to join our Property Services Team, delivering high-quality painting across occupied and vacant properties and supporting domestic and commercial projects.

As a Painter you will prepare surfaces, apply paints and coatings, and ensure safety and quality on site. The role offers a competitive salary (£34,811 base plus £2,142 market forces supplement) and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Surface preparation including sanding, cleaning and priming.
• Applying paints, stains and coatings with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Damp and mould treatment experience preferred.
• Work at height routinely and safely on site.
• Maintain clean, safe working environment.

• Supervise Apprentices on site as required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Painters to join our Property Services Team.

We are looking for motivated, skilled and customer-focused Painters who share our commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and service excellence.

As a Painter, you will play a key role in delivering a wide range of painting works across occupied and vacant properties, as well as supporting projects within both domestic and commercial settings throughout South Tyneside.

Your duties will include:

• Preparing surfaces for painting, including sanding, cleaning and priming.
• Applying paint, stains and coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
• Applying damp and mould treatments.
• Regularly working at height, both indoors and outdoors.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Undertaking all aspects of the role, using a multi-skilled whole job approach.
• Understanding and managing the quantities of material required for the job.
• Being a team player and therefore able to work in a group.
• Being accustomed to building and construction sites.
• Understanding the basics of computers and other hand-held devices.
• Ensuring the site is safe for public and employees.
• Using tools associated with the work including portable power tools.
• Supervising Apprentices and other young people on site demonstrating tasks to be carried out.
• Working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet service targets and customer expectations.
• Prioritising workloads effectively to ensure repairs and projects are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety requirements, policies and procedures.
• Maintaining excellent standards of customer care when working within residents' homes and communities.
