As a Painter within NOV Kintore, you will spray paint welded and fabricated units in accordance with the Company’s process and our customers’ standards. The task demands a right first time manner to maintain the Company’s high quality standards within a fast moving production environment. As a Painter you will be keen to take on challenges, develop your technical skills potential as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and paint components used in the assembly and production.
  • To apply paint finishes including primer and top coat to a range of finished machined components using suction fed spray guns. Paint spraying is carried out either open fronted, force ventilated booths or a wet collector spray booth.
  • Checking of paint coverage by ensuring correct wet film thickness.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required
  • Handle steel parts and visually inspect and sort according to finishing needs.
  • Perform a variety of duties including surface preparation shot blast and cleaning.
  • Become familiar with and utilise all paint booth and shop safety procedures and equipment.
  • Spray products as required, insuring that paint is applied in a manner consistent with customerrequirements and company quality standards.
  • Return painted parts to the appropriate job site after determining that parts are adequately dried.Cleaning of sprayguns and lines.
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of paint products, and notifies the Supervisor of the need to reorder additional materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good standard of high school education or equivalent (essential).

EXPERIENCE:

  • Good working knowledge within service and/or manufacturing background(essential).
  • Working knowledge within an industrial painting environment (essential).

SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

  • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook) (essential).
