Job Description:

At Paradigm Housing Group, we’re committed to ensuring our homes are safe, healthy, and free from hazards. In line with Awaab’s Law, we’re expanding our Property Services team and are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator Support Technician (Damp & Mould) with painting and decorating expertise to help us deliver vital improvements to our residents’ living conditions.

About the Role

This is a practical, hands-on role with a primary focus on the removal and cleaning of damp and mould from our properties. Once the affected areas have been treated and made safe, you’ll carry out painting and decorating works to restore the property to a high standard.

You’ll work closely with surveyors, supervisors, and other trades to ensure all hazards are fully resolved before any finishing work begins. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help us meet our legal obligations and deliver a service our residents can rely on.

Key Responsibilities

Responding to reports of damp and mould, completing emergency works within 24 hours and non-emergency works within 7 days

Cleaning and treating affected areas using safe, effective methods

Working collaboratively with surveyors and other trades to address root causes

Carrying out internal and external painting and decorating once hazard removal is complete

Preparing surfaces, including plastering, rendering, and making good

Undertaking minor maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry and plumbing

Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used

Ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone experienced, proactive, and passionate about improving living conditions. You’ll need:

A recognised qualification (NVQ/BTEC) or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in painting/decorating

A solid understanding of damp, mould, and the requirements of Awaab’s Law

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong time management and communication skills

Physical fitness and confidence working at height

A full, valid UK driving licence

Experience in other trades, health and safety training, and basic IT skills would be advantageous.
