Job summary

18 Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join a social housing maintenance team covering Liverpool and surrounding areas. This permanent role focuses on void properties, delivering high-quality painting and finishing to ready homes for new tenants.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in social housing, be able to work independently, follow health and safety procedures, and hold a Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator in social housing, property maintenance, or construction.
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation, painting, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).
• Desirable: experience on social housing voids and planned maintenance contracts.
• Desirable: relevant trade qualification or time-served apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for decoration, including filling and sanding and making good defects.
• Carry out all aspects of internal and external painting work.
• Hang wallpaper and wall coverings where required.
• Apply emulsion, gloss, satin, and specialist coatings.
• Complete re-decoration works within void and tenanted properties.
• Undertake minor repair works to walls, ceilings, woodwork and surfaces before decorating.
• Ensure properties are completed to a high standard within agreed timescales.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Accurately record completed works and material usage.

About the Role

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and reliable Painter & Decorator to join their social housing maintenance team covering Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

This is a permanent role working primarily on void properties, carrying out all aspects of painting, decorating, and property finishing to ensure homes are presented to a high standard and ready for new tenants. The successful candidate will have experience working within social housing, property maintenance, or refurbishment environments and take pride in delivering quality workmanship.
