Job summary

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated individual to join the Estates Department as a painting and decorating assistant. The role supports the painting team across clinical and non-clinical facilities, contributing to high-quality maintenance services within a busy directorate.

Based in York, you will travel between Trust sites, work Monday to Friday with flexibility for hours and essential training.

Qualifications

  • NVQ level 3 or Level 2 with substantial post-qualification experience
  • Full and clean UK driving licence
  • Experience delivering a high quality painting and decorating service
  • Knowledge of up-to-date processes in painting and decorating

  • Assist the painting team with all aspects of painting and decorating work
  • Work cooperatively with electrical, mechanical and building specialists

Job description

The Estates Department is looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to work as part of a multidisciplinary management team. The departmentprovides management, development, maintenance and operational support for the Trust's buildings and engineering infrastructure. The role is critical to the Estates Department's maintenance support service and is demanding and varied as it covers a range of engineeringservices. The role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning and maintenance of a range of engineering services in the Trust's clinical and non-clinical facilities of a very busy directorate and to be part of a team that is constantly working to improve the quality andsafety of the Trust's healthcare facilities.,

The successful candidate will be based at York but must be willing to work at any of the Trust's sites when required. You will be part of a teamworking dayshift Monday to Friday but also covering when necessary across other Trust sites hence you must be flexible regarding the hours ofduty and will be expected to undertake appropriate training as part of the job role. The successful candidate will primarily assist the painting team with all aspects of their work in providing a high quality and reliable serviceand have a good general knowledge of painting and decorating services. The successful candidate must be able to work co-operatively as part of a team comprising of electrical, mechanical and building specialists andhave demonstrable experience of working within a maintenance environment. The successful candidate will be required to travel independently across the Trust sites.

  • National Vocational Qualification to level 3 (such as City and Guilds) or National Vocational Qualification Level 2 with substantial post qualification experience and successful completion of appropriate training courses.
  • Full and clean UK driving license, Experience of delivering a high quality painting and decorating service
  • Knowledge of up-to-date processes in painting and decorating
