Job description

The Painter and Decorator is responsible for painting, varnishing, wallpapering, and applying other protective and decorative materials to interior and exterior walls and surfaces.

Main Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain all painted areas of hotel rooms, public areas, and back of house areas.
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance for all hotel areas as per procedures.
• Assist with repairing fixtures, fittings, and general appliances for guests and staff.
• Conduct daily inspections of the building following maintenance procedures.
• Maintain a clean and tidy workshop area at all times.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of the hotel, including layout, technical services, security devices, and safety routines.
• Monitor storage and issuance of materials, equipment, and spares; maintain stock levels with management.
• Inspect and maintain maintenance equipment, ensuring safety and functionality, and report or repair defects.
• Control the safety and security of all hotel tools and keys.
• Understand the hotel’s products and design.
• Be flexible to meet guest demands throughout the working day.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
