As a Regional Painter & Decorator at HC-One, you will undertake painting and decorating duties to present the homes to the highest standards, helping HC-One become the First Choice Care Home in the community. You will maintain a clean, safe, and homely environment to meet the needs of Residents and Colleagues. Flexibility and responsiveness to the changing needs of the Homes are essential.
You will report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accidents involving Residents, Colleagues, yourself, or others. Understanding and implementing the Care Home’s Health and Safety policies, as well as Emergency and Fire procedures, is required. This full-time position covers multiple care homes, so a driving license is necessary.
We seek someone with effective engagement and communication skills with Residents, the Home Manager, and colleagues. Your responsibilities include general painting and decorating across the Care Home, such as making good damage prior to decoration, wallpapering, and painting walls, ceilings, fixtures, and fittings. You will ensure the implementation of health and safety policies, promote safe working practices, and maintain equipment in a clean and well-maintained condition. Completing mandatory and role-specific training to maintain professional knowledge is also required.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to act if concerns arise. All colleagues must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns appropriately.
