A leading housing provider is seeking a skilled Permanent Painter & Decorator to join their team in the Welwyn and Hatfield areas. This full-time role involves interior and exterior painting, treating damp issues, and supporting multi-trade work. We're Hiring: Permanent Painter & Decorator - Social Housing
Location: Welwyn Garden City -(Mobile role covering Welwyn & Hatfield areas)
Contract: Permanent | Full-Time
Salary: £31,000 - £35,000 + Company Van + Fuel Card + Benefits + Bonus
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Painter & Decorator to join our responsive repairs and planned works team, operating across occupied and void properties in the Welwyn and Hatfield areas.
This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated team improving the quality of social housing and delivering a first-class service to residents.
Key Responsibilities:Interior and exterior painting and decorating, including glossing, emulsion, papering
Treating damp and mould issues effectively
Preparing surfaces to a high standard and achieving flawless finishes
Working in both occupied homes and void (empty) properties
Completing tasks efficiently using a handheld PDA device (full training provided)
Supporting wider team with multi-trade work such as basic plastering and tiling
City & Guilds Craft Certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent)
Ideally holds or is working towards a Blue CSCS Card
Experience in social housing, council or housing association environments
Solid knowledge of damp treatment methods
Ability to deliver high-quality workmanship, first time
Full or automatic UK driving licence (held for 12+ months)
Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently or in a team
Company van and fuel card (for work use only)
