Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd is seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join a national maintenance and refurbishment provider. The role covers MOD sites at Colchester and nearby locations, with security clearance required.

Hours are 08:00–17:00, Monday to Friday, and salary is £32,032.00 per annum. A company vehicle, fuel card and uniform are provided, along with a pension and life assurance package.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and painting surfaces to a high standard.
• Applying paints, coatings and finishes to internal and external surfaces.
• Surface preparation including sanding, filling and priming.
• Applying specialist finishes such as stains and varnishes.
• Hanging wall coverings (desirable).
• Working across projects to meet deadlines.
• Monitoring decorating materials and stock.
• Ensuring works are delivered within agreed budgets.
• Maintaining quality, safety and housekeeping on site.
• Using a PDA device to receive jobs and update progress.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 am - 5:00 pm

Salary: £32,032.00 per annum

(plus full decorating work paid at agreed price-work rates)*

We have an opportunity for a skilled and customer-focused Painter and Decorator to join a national maintenance and refurbishment provider, covering sites across Colchester, Wattisham, Wimbish and Woodbridge.

This role is based on MOD (Ministry of Defence) sites, so successful candidates will be required to undergo security clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and painting surfaces to a consistently high standard.
• Applying paints, coatings and finishes to internal and external surfaces.
• Carrying out surface preparation, including sanding, filling and priming.
• Applying specialist finishes, such as stains and varnishes, where required.
• Hanging a variety of wall coverings (desirable).
• Working collaboratively across a range of projects to meet programme deadlines.
• Monitoring decorating materials and requesting stock as required.
• Ensuring works are delivered within agreed budgets.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping on site.
• Using a PDA device to receive jobs, record work and update job progress.
