Painter/Hand Sprayer

We are seeking a skilled Painter/Hand Sprayer to join the manufacturing team and support the plant in key paint sections. The successful candidate will operate largely unsupervised in a busy paint shop environment, applying high standards of finish using manual spray equipment and ensuring all products meet engineering and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate manual spray gun equipment to paint products to specification.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings and customer requirements.
• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, verniers, plug and ring gauges.
• Support shift operations and complete overtime when required.
• Be open to cross-training and learning other manufacturing processes.
• Train and share knowledge with other operators when needed.

Core Duties Include:
• Deliver consistent high-quality finishes across a range of product types.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with production standards.
• Report any defects, damage, or production issues promptly.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the paint section.
• Support adherence to customer and internal quality assurance standards

Required Experience:
• Manual hand spraying techniques in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Ability to work from engineering drawings and to tight tolerances
• Use of measuring tools such as micrometers and gauges
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexible and proactive approach to learning and development

Pay rates:
Standard shift (07:30-16:30) - GBP16.82/hr
Two-Shift (06:00-14:00/14:00-22:00 swap weekly) - GBP20.69p/hr
Night shift (22:00-06:00) - GBP21.63p/hr
Continental Shifts (4 on, 4 off. 6-6, 7-7) - GBP23.55p/hr
Shift patterns are selected by the client. To apply you must be available for all shifts.
All pay rates are advertised as a PAYE rate.
The positions on offer could lead to a permanent role at BAE Systems.
