Job description

Marshall Land Systems are recruiting for Skilled Paint Sprayers to be based at their site in Cambridge (postcode is CB5 8RX) the role plays a pivotal role in some high-profile military projects, and your ideas and contribution will be valued in a business where people really matter. Training will be provided on the products and there is scope for further development and progression within the Company

Standard working hours are 7.15am – 3.45pm Monday to Thursday with a half day finish on Friday’s *overtime is available and comes with a enhanced rate*

Your responsibilities in this role include:

  • Spraying components of varying sizes
  • Working with a variety of paints from gloss to matt, water based and solvent
  • Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits
  • Ability to sort all paint defects interior or exterior using various tools and techniques be it by using spray gun, brush head or roller head
  • Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of task
  • Be fully conversant with all equipment, and tools associated with the Paint Spraying process
  • To spray units as per customer specification using electrostatic spray pumps and single/twin pack paints.
  • Check and complete all paperwork associated with the Manufacturing data pack
  • To support the Production Managers and Team Leaders, ensuring that all Marshall Land System projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standard
  • Take an active role in continuous improvements, to include lean and 5s procedures
  • Ensure equipment and tooling required is identified to the line manager

Apply if you have the following or equivalent:

  • Time served as a painter with a proven track record of paint experience
  • Experience in commercial vehicle, motor trade and aircraft paint spraying
  • Fully trained in working with various primers and topcoats including water based and solvent based paints
  • City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent time served
