Job summary

Vehicle Painter / Paint Sprayer / Vehicle Paint Technician

Location: York

Salary: £21-£23 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Earning Potential: Up to £59,800 per annum

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm, plus 1 in 2 Saturdays, 8:00am-12:00pm depending on business needs

The Role

As a Vehicle Painter, you will be responsible for preparing, painting and finishing a variety of vehicles to the highest possible standard, ensuring repairs meet strict quality requirements and agreed deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing vehicles and panels ready for painting.
• Carrying out priming, sanding and masking.
• Applying paint using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Accurately colour matching painted panels to the original vehicle finish.
• Applying the correct amount of paint to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Inspecting completed paintwork and polishing where required.
• Identifying and correcting paint defects.
• Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
• Following appropriate RPE and PPE requirements.
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and to a high standard.

About You

• At least 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Painter / Paint Sprayer.
• Proven experience within an automotive accident repair environment.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle preparation, paint processes and refinishing techniques.
• Confident with colour matching and paint application.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
• Ability to complete repairs from preparation through to final finish.
• Comfortable working to deadlines and production targets.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy repair environment.
