Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a Vehicle Paint Sprayer to support refurbishment of military vehicles at our Catterick Garrison site. You will be part of a skilled team applying coatings and performing surface preparation to ensure high-quality finishes for critical defence assets.

The role involves manual work on a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday, with training provided and the ability to obtain SC security clearance. A full UK driving licence is required to undertake this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in spray painting, industrial painting, surface preparation or coating application.
• Valid Full UK Driving Licence.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle and equipment surfaces through masking, washing, blasting, filling and sanding.
• Clean surfaces to ensure paint readiness.
• Apply coatings through spray painting to meet quality standards.
• Complete patch painting and rolling as needed.
• Maintain high workmanship, safety and quality throughout refurbishment.

Job description

As a Vehicle Paint Sprayer, you'll play a vital role in supporting the refurbishment of military vehicles and equipment that help protect national security. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your specialist paint spraying skills in a unique engineering environment, where your work is highly visible and directly contributes to the quality, performance, and presentation of critical defence assets. You'll be part of a skilled team, developing your expertise while supporting projects that make a real difference.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle and equipment surfaces through masking, washing, blasting, filling, and sanding activities
• Clean surfaces using degreasers and other appropriate agents to ensure paint readiness
• Apply coatings through spray painting techniques to meet quality and finish standards
• Complete patch painting and rolling activities where required
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality throughout the refurbishment process

Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

The role is based onsite at Catterick, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.

Requirements

• Experience in spray painting, industrial painting, surface preparation or coating application
• Valid Full UK Driving Licence, We value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. No formal paint spraying qualification is required. Training and certification will be provided for the successful candidate, The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
