Telestack is looking for a Paint Shop Team Lead to oversee the paint shop operations, coach a small team of operatives, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring health and safety compliance. You will coordinate tasks to meet busy production schedules and maintain accurate timekeeping and maintenance records.

The role requires forklift experience, leadership ability, and strong communication within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a small team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with forklift operation and safety.
  • Strong communication, written and verbal.
  • Proficient with IT systems and Excel.
  • Understanding of ERP systems.
  • Ability to meet production targets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all paint shop operations to meet production schedule.
  • Lead and manage Paint shop Operatives to meet targets.
  • Coach employees for continuous improvement and quality workmanship.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and PPE.
  • Ensure timesheets and labour hours are tracked accurately.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve machine labour hours.
  • Ensure regular servicing and maintenance is documented.
  • Coordinate set down locations for completed parts and maintain yard.
  • Review and sign time sheets for your area.

Paint Shop Team Lead

Main purpose of the job.

Overseeing the paint shop’s performance of tasks, supporting management/supervisors and ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.

About the role

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate all ‘paint shop’ operations – including loading and unloading of parts, to meet the demands of a busy production schedule.
  • Lead and manage a small team of Paint shop Operatives to meet production targets.
  • Coach employees to ensure continuous improvement producing high quality workmanship.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures including health and safety and encouraging safe working practices at all times.
  • Ensure all employees within your team adhere to all policies and procedures and PPE compliance.
  • Ensure employees are performing any given task in a timely manner to meet machine target hours.
  • Review and sign of time sheets for your area ensuring all timesheets are completed at the end of each shift.
  • Work with cross functional team to ensure continuous improvement to reach target machine labour hours.
  • Ensure all regular servicing and maintenance operations are completed and documented
  • Coordinate set down locations for completed painted parts and upkeep of main yard

Required Criteria
  • Experience of Operating a Forklift
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Good organisational Skills
  • Strong technical background, and ability to work in an ever-changing and dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing, and the ability to work with cross functional teams for driving improvements in the area
  • Proficient in the use of IT Systems and Microsoft office applications such as Excel
  • Understanding of ERP Systems
Desired Criteria
  • Experience of operating a gantry crane
