Job description

EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to maintain a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Service Delivery
    • Supervise daily operations of the paint shop team.
    • Advise and guide on all paint shop operations (blasting, prepping, painting, repairs).
    • Coach and mentor staff to develop skills.
    • Estimate painting times, staffing, and costs to maximize efficiency.
    • Develop and improve manufacturing methods considering safety and quality standards.
    • Plan workspace utilization.
    • Perform quality checks before and after jobs.
    • Minimize re-work requirements.
    • Coordinate with the Fitting Shop to meet production targets.
    • Report progress to the Production Manager.
    • Liaise with management on capabilities and schedules.
    • Monitor and record performance data to improve efficiency.
    • Streamline purchasing and reduce costs.
  2. Performance Improvement
    • Apply the performance management system consistently.
    • Support staff in achieving KPIs and professional development.
    • Address performance issues effectively.
  3. Financial and Resource Management
    • Ensure the Paint Shop operates efficiently and meets financial targets.
    • Implement innovative solutions for service improvements.
  4. People Management
    • Provide leadership and ensure high-quality service.
    • Promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
    • Uphold equality, diversity, and health and safety policies.
    • Review staff performance regularly and support development.
    • Participate in recruitment and disciplinary processes.

Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
  • Degree qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience in a similar industry.
