Paint Shop Supervisor Job Description

EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to maintain a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Service Delivery: Daily supervision of the paint shop team, providing guidance on operations such as blasting, prepping, painting, and repairs. Coaching and mentoring staff, estimating painting times and costs, and developing manufacturing methods while ensuring health, safety, and quality standards.
  2. Planning and Quality Control: Planning workspace utilization, conducting quality checks, minimizing rework, and coordinating with other departments to meet production targets. Monitoring performance to improve efficiency and streamline purchasing to reduce costs.
  3. Performance and People Management: Applying the company's performance management system, supporting staff development, and managing performance issues effectively. Providing leadership to ensure high-quality service and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  4. Financial and Resource Management: Ensuring the Paint Shop operates efficiently within financial targets, seeking innovative solutions for service improvements.
  5. General Management: Promoting equality, diversity, and health and safety compliance. Participating in staff recruitment, training, and disciplinary actions. Upholding company core values and legal obligations related to health and safety.
Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience: Degree-level qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience in a similar industry; experience with heavy machinery painting. Desirable: management of a Paint Shop, advising stakeholders, management/leadership qualification.

Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities; organizational and planning skills; proficiency in MS Office. Ability to work flexible hours.
