Job summary

Recruit4staff LTD is representing a well-established commercial vehicle business. A Vehicle Prepper is sought to prepare commercial vehicles for paint, inspect panels for imperfections, and mask vehicles ahead of painting. You will work with the paint and bodyshop team to ensure readiness for the next stage.

The role requires attention to detail and experience with sanding/grinding tools, with a Monday–Friday 8am–5pm schedule and a permanent contract. Location: Radcliffe area, near Manchester.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in vehicle surface preparation.
• Experience using sanders and grinders.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently as a Vehicle Prepper.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle panels for imperfections and prepare surfaces.
• Sand and mask vehicles prior to paint to a high standard.
• Operate grinders and sanding equipment to achieve fine tolerances.
• Collaborate with paint and bodyshop teams to ensure vehicles are ready for the next stage.

Job Details

Pay: Up to £15.50 per hour

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm (some flexibility on start times)

Duration: Permanent

Benefits: Standard pension, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays

Job Role: The Vehicle Prepper will be responsible for preparing commercial vehicles for paint application to a high standard. Duties include inspecting vehicle panels for imperfections, sanding surfaces to fine tolerances, masking vehicles prior to paint and operating grinders and sanding equipment. The Vehicle Prepper will work closely with the paint and bodyshop team to ensure vehicles are fully prepared and ready for the next stage. This role is ideal for an experienced Vehicle Prepper with a strong eye for detail.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• Previous experience in vehicle surface preparation
• Experience using sanders and grinders
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently as a Vehicle Prepper

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• IMI Level 2 in Vehicle Body & Paint Operations or similar
• Previous experience working as a Vehicle Prepper on commercial vehicles
