Job summary

A leader in the metal fabrication industry is seeking a Paint Plant General Operator for a Temp to Perm position in Chilton. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a powder coat or wet paint plant, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.   • Understanding of engineering drawings – desirable.

  • Shifts: 2-shift rotation (6.00am–2.30pm / 2.30pm–11.00pm)
  • Type: Temp to Perm
  • Pay Rate: £14.65per hour

Our client is expanding and we are looking for a reliable and proactive Paint Plant General Operator to join our growing team in Chilton.

About the Role:

  • Select and prepare paint stock for each job
  • Jig and mask components according to specifications or drawing details
  • Work from job sheets or basic engineering drawings (desirable but not essential)
  • Pack finished parts to the required standard
  • Maintain cleanliness and general housekeeping within the work area
  • Work independently while being part of a small team (approx. 5 people)

About you:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience on a powder coat or wet paint plant
  • Ability to work unsupervised and manage multiple tasks
  • Understanding of engineering drawings – desirable
  • A strong work ethic, good attention to detail, and a team-focused attitude
