A leading paint manufacturer has an immediate requirement for an experienced Paint Chemist to join their team at this office near Manchester.

Salary: Circa £35,000 benefits
Location: Manchester, M12 5ED
It is essential that you have previous experience as a Paint Chemist, ideally working with decorative paints.
As a Paint Chemist, you will be a key member of the research and development team, focusing on improvement, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, evaluation of products, sourcing and testing raw materials, manufacturing procedures, test procedures, quality systems, R&D systems, and documentation.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Planning a pilot plant and scaling up products from laboratory trials to production.
- Developing new formulations and producing samples.
- Assisting in routine operations at the R&D Laboratory.
- Analyzing and evaluating raw materials and competitor products.
- Investigating and improving products and manufacturing processes, and assisting with their implementation.
- Investigating and solving problems in production, laboratory, and the field, making recommendations to the Technical Manager, and liaising with staff to resolve issues.
- Developing research understanding, producing reports (verbal and written) for the Technical Director, and communicating research results.
- Supporting all provisions of the Quality System relevant to this position.
- Color matching and quality control of color collateral would be advantageous.
