Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Weymouth is recruiting graduates and career changers for a 2-year salaried teacher training programme starting January 2027. The first year as a Cover Supervisor in a local secondary school provides paid school-based experience and mentoring.

The programme leads to PGCE and QTS with fully funded training, no tuition fees, and a structured pathway into a teaching career. After year one you progress to formal teacher training while continuing to gain practical experience.

Qualifications

• UK bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and respond positively to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons using resources provided by teaching staff.
• Supervise classes and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support pupils with their learning and development.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Observe lessons to develop teaching techniques and participate in training.
