Job summary

Teaching Personnel's Future Teachers Programme in Poole invites graduates to gain practical experience in a secondary school before formal teacher training, with a January 2027 start and a salary of £23,000–£27,000 per year.

You will begin as a Cover Supervisor, supporting students during short-term absences, observing lessons and developing classroom and behaviour management skills, with funded development and the potential to progress to PGCE and QTS.

Qualifications

• We welcome graduates with a genuine interest in education.
• You may have a degree in Maths, English, Science, History, Geography, Religious Education / Ethics and Philosophy, Modern Foreign Languages, Technology or another subject.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lessons during short-term teacher absences.
• Ensure students understand and complete the work provided.
• Develop classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Observe lessons across different subjects.
• Gain an understanding of differentiation and approaches to supporting students.
• Experience registration, assemblies and wider school activities.
