Job summary

Dyfed Powys Police invites applications for a Digital Forensic Intern within the Tri Force Forensic Alliance. This paid internship provides hands-on experience in a ISO17025 laboratory, developing practical forensic skills under expert supervision.

The 12-month placement starts September 2027, with a salary of £27,204. Applicants should be near or after a degree in digital forensics, computer science or cyber-crime and meet the UK residency requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be working toward a degree in digital forensics / computer science / cyber-crime.
• Must have GCSEs grades A-C in Maths and English.
• Must demonstrate analytical and interpretation skills.
• Must be computer literate with knowledge of devices and operating systems.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and organise workload.

Responsibilities

• Support digital forensic investigations and contribute to evidence gathering.
• Develop practical forensic skills in an ISO17025 accredited lab.
• Work with experienced technicians and investigators to assist cases.
