Job summary

JustOT is recruiting a Band 6 Locum Paediatric Occupational Therapist for a role in Tyneside. The post involves assessments and therapy for children and young people with complex needs, working within a multidisciplinary team and alongside families and carers to promote independence.

The ideal candidate will hold HCPC registration and have paediatric OT experience, with a track record of using evidence-based approaches and safeguarding priorities central to practice.

Qualifications

• Must have HCPC registration or be eligible for registration with HCPC.
• Experience delivering assessments and therapeutic interventions.
• Strong knowledge of child development and safeguarding.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children and young people.
• Plan and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support development and independence.
• Apply knowledge of child development to inform assessment and treatment.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and prioritise child welfare.
• Collaborate with families, carers and the MDT.

Band 6 Locum Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Tyneside

JustOT is currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist to take on an exciting locum opportunity based in Tyneside.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and skilled Paediatric OT to join a team supporting children and young people with a range of complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children and young people with complex needs.
• Plan and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support functional development and independence.
• Apply specialist knowledge of child development to inform assessment and treatment.
• Identify and address safeguarding concerns, ensuring the welfare of children remains a priority.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).
• Provide specialist advice and recommendations to support children's participation in everyday activities.

Essential Requirements:

• HCPC registration.
• Previous paediatric occupational therapy experience.
• Experience completing complex assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions.
• Strong knowledge of child development and safeguarding.
• Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
