Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Trust Doctor ST4 equivalent in paediatrics, working across paediatric and neonatal teams at Wexham Park Hospital for 12 months; two posts available.

The post involves day and out-of-hours duties, with potential for outpatient work, teaching and audits, and supervision to support professional development in a busy district general hospital.

Qualifications

• MRCPCH or equivalent
• Full GMC registration/on specialist register of GMC
• APLS and NLS
• Satisfactory completion of core paediatric training
• Experience in neonates to be able to cover a level 2 neonatal unit
• Able to prioritise clinical needs and aware of own limitations, consulting with senior colleagues appropriately and know when to ask for help
• Able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English eg able to write legible records
• Able to discuss treatment options with patients in a way they can understand, establishing relations with patients, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Able to contribute to teaching and learning of others in the clinical setting
• NLS/APLS Instructor status
• Computer literate, understanding the importance and impact of information systems in health care

Responsibilities

• Provide care of acute patients under the guidance of the senior staff.
• Be encouraged to participate in audits
• Perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation where practicable with their colleagues both senior and junior.
• Comply with Infection prevention and control procedures which is the responsibility of everyone. Employees are required to strictly adhere to the infection control policy
