Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Paediatrics Occupational Therapist for a hybrid, full-time locum role in Sutton. The contract runs for 3 months with potential extension, offering a top daily rate of up to £350 per case and a £648 induction payment after the first 5 completed cases.

Initial workload around 10 cases in batches of 5, with inductions and moving/handling training provided. You will conduct child-focused OT assessments, manage cases through to completion, assess equipment needs, and

• Significant experience in Children’s Occupational Therapy.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage complex cases.
• Competent in assessments, equipment recommendations, and adaptation referrals.

What you will do

• Complete Occupational Therapy assessments for children and young people, ensuring they receive the support they need.
• Oversee and manage your cases through to completion as part of the Waiting List Clearance Project.
• Assess equipment and adaptation requirements for each case, making necessary recommendations.
• Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and provide detailed reports.
• Conduct face-to-face visits with families to gain insights and deliver effective care plans.
• Document all records and assessments using the Mosaic system.
• Arrange the provision of essential equipment as required.
• Initiate major adaptation referrals for those appropriate cases.
• Secure manager sign-off and ensure case closures are handled efficiently.
• Work independently while maintaining a high standard of professional care.

Requirements

• Degree in Occupational Therapy, supported by HCPC registration.
• Significant experience in Children's Occupational Therapy and Social Care.
• Proven ability to work autonomously whilst managing complex cases.
• Competency in conducting assessments, making equipment recommendations, and processing adaptation referrals.
• Exceptional report writing and case management skills.

Desirable Requirements

• Familiarity with the Mosaic system.
• Experience with Local Authorities and waiting list clearance projects.
• Knowledge in moving and handling.
• Extensive experience in Children's Social Care Occupational Therapy.
