Job summary

The post is based at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital within the Ultrasound Department of Radiology. Radiology Department Assistants (RDA) are fundamental to the smooth running of the department, supporting clinical activities in all modalities including CT, MR, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy.

Ultrasound is a busy sub-specialty and we undertake a wide range of examinations and this role provides the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art environment together with a friendly and dedicated team

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare environment is desirable, but not essential.
• Assist in the care of patients during their visit and support clinical staff during procedures.
• Work in a team environment and under pressure with effective communication and accurate message taking.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care during department visits and during procedures.
• Support radiology staff including sonographers and consultants.
• Liaise with clinical and non-clinical staff and take messages.
• Adapt to prioritisation of workload in a fast-paced environment.
