Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a part-time Paediatric Therapy Assistant to join the Basildon Hospital Childrens Therapy Team. You will support occupational therapists and physiotherapists in clinics and hydrotherapy sessions, assisting with treatment programmes and ward and outpatient activities.

This role also covers general departmental duties, including cleaning, data collection, equipment ordering, and basic clerical tasks to ensure smooth service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting.
• Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary therapy team.
• Willingness to undertake clerical and housekeeping tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• You will work on the wards and with outpatients, supporting the role of the occupational therapist, physiotherapist and other therapy team members.
• Contribute to patient assessment and treatment, including supervising gym classes and hydrotherapy sessions.
• Undertake general departmental duties such as cleaning, data collection and ordering equipment.
• Undertake clerical and household tasks to maintain smooth department operations.
