Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Paediatric Staff Nurse to rotate between the Paediatric Emergency Department, the paediatric inpatient ward and the short stay assessment area. The role focuses on family-centred care for babies, children and young people, with induction and preceptorship available.

The post requires active NMC registration, an enhanced DBS check and flexible hours, with opportunities to supervise learners and contribute to clinical governance and service improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in nursing with active NMC registration.
• Mandatory training: BLS, manual handling, infection control and fire safety.
• Experience in clinical nursing care within a healthcare setting.
• Ability to supervise learners and junior staff clinically.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop and implement patient care with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide safe and effective patient care within professional scope.
• Assess and interpret patients' needs and provide care, guidance.
• Contribute to clinical governance and service objectives.
• Support strategic and operational management of the specialty.
• Contribute to the NHS Clinical Quality Improvement strategy.
• Provide clinical supervision and training to staff, students or patients.
• Contribute to audit and research pathways relevant to the role.
• Manage resources within own area.
