Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for Band 5 Paediatric Nurses to join our Children's Emergency Departments at Epsom. Our team provides 24-hour paediatric emergency care in our dedicated Paediatric Emergency Department, caring for children with acute and urgent physical and mental health needs, as well as complex and long-term conditions.

The team includes dedicated paediatric advanced care practitioners and is supported by the Trust's Paediatric Nursing and Medical Teams, along with Emergency Department colleagues. There are opportunities for professional development, including access to our Trust-wide paediatric simulation courses.

Paediatric services at Epsom General Hospital include our acute paediatric ward, medical day units, and children’s outpatient services. We also host a Level 1 Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Service, a paediatric psychiatric liaison service, over 25 paediatric specialist nurses, two community children’s nurses, and a specialist children’s safeguarding team. These offer opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills across various areas, complementing your emergency nursing skills.

Paed ED now has its own dedicated Practice Educator for Paediatric ED to support both existing and new nurses in learning new skills necessary in Paed ED.
