Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is recruiting a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Assistant for a dynamic independent special school in Yateley, Hampshire. The role involves supporting therapists, delivering sessions, and fostering communication skills for pupils aged 2–19 in a multisensory setting.

You will work with qualified Speech and Language Therapists, developing resources and building therapeutic relationships while contributing to a supportive, collaborative educational environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with complex needs is desirable.
• Ability to work with therapists under guidance.
• Physically agile and able to work at floor/table level.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering individual and group therapy sessions under the guidance of qualified therapists.
• Implement therapy interventions and produce resources to support students' communication development.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with children to encourage engagement and progress.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to therapists and educational staff.
• Liaise with parents and school staff regarding children's needs and progress.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and student progress.
• Contribute to the preparation of training materials and support induction of new staff.
