Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to work in Lewisham, London, across mainstream schools for children aged 5 to 18. The post is based at the Kaleidoscope centre in Catford and requires independent practice within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The role focuses on innovative therapy approaches, outcome-focused care, and adherence to local protocols, with a view to service improvement and safeguarding. 37.5 hours weekly, 12-week initial contract.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the RCSLT.
• Experience working with children and young people in educational settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reflective and proactive approach to clinical practice and service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess, diagnose, manage and evaluate outcomes for children with speech, language and communication needs.
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments and interventions that are child-centred.
• Support development and delivery of innovative therapy approaches and service models.
• Monitor progress and maintain evidence-based clinical practice with cultural and linguistic sensitivity.
• Oversee caseload, identify risks and opportunities for service development.
• Provide professional advice for Education and Health Care Needs Assessments and Plans.
• Maintain clinical records and reports; participate in supervision.
