Join a leading healthcare provider as a Paediatric Specialist Practitioner Sonographer in London. We have an exciting opportunity for a Sonographer with high degree of autonomy and experience practicing at the top of their licence and can evidence the four pillars of advanced clinical practice to join our diverse team as Paediatric Specialist Practitioner Sonographer. The successful candidate will be based at the Royal London Hospital with Cross site rotation to St Bartholomew's and Mile End if required.
Due to the scope of practice required for these roles the post holder must be working towards or having achieved a CASE accredited master's level award or equivalent and hold up to date statutory registration with a regulatory body (e.g. HCPC or NMC).
The contract is a 7-day working compressed 150 per month (4 weekly) and some weekend working, specific hours can be discussed at interview. It is anticipated that this role is job planned for effectiveness and attendance to relevant MDT meetings.
Managerial experience with good organisational and communication skills are essential working in collaboration with the US lead Sonographers to run an efficient service.
The role is 80% Direct Clinical contact 20% Supporting Professional activities with the primary aim tosupport the upskilling and training of sonographers in Paediatrics ultrasound to address the lack of skill mix within our workforce. The Post holders must have a proven track record of training and developing others and be responsible for developing and regularly reviewing standardised departmental protocols and Sonographer scope of practice. Acting as an independent practitioner offering guidance and expert opinion for specialty within Paediatric ultrasound Imaging and working closely with the Paediatric Consultant Radiologists team.
The post holder will work as part of a Multidisciplinary team to manage the pathway for patients referred for General paediatric Ultrasound including complex scans e.g. Paediatric hips.
The post holders will lead continuous improvement by via audit, quality improvement projects and research, whilst acting as an independent practitioner offering guidance and expert opinion.
