The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Specialist Nurse for Pediatric Oncology. This full-time role involves providing specialist advice and care to children with cancer and their families, ensuring evidence-based, patient-centred treatment. The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical expertise and demonstrate high-level communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
To provide clinical and professional specialist advice and support to CYP and their families across the Trust in relation to supporting Children and Young People with Oncology treatment needs. The role involves working across boundaries as required, developing and supporting patient-centred, seamless care. The post holder will act as a visible role model and advocate to CYP and the nursing team, developing clinical practice standards across the organisation to ensure the provision of safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing services to Children and Young People within our care.
The role is a core part of the Paediatric Specialist Nursing team and serves as a key resource for specialist Oncology care, support, and improvement. Working with Lead Nurses for Paediatrics, the post will help lead the implementation of quality improvement projects in line with best practices across children’s services. The role involves collaboration with Divisional teams and multi-agency partners within Principal Treatment Centres, West Midlands CYP Cancer Network, Children’s Community Nursing team, and the multidisciplinary team surrounding the CYP to ensure optimal treatment and continuity of care upon discharge.
This position is full-time and part of succession planning to ensure seamless care for CYP.
