Job summary

East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a children's speech and language therapist to assess and treat children across Early Years, schools and complex needs services, with sessions allocated by experience and interest.

You will deliver caseload in pre-school to secondary schools, support school staff via a universal-targeted-specialist model, and run parent workshops. HCPC registration is required.

Qualifications

• Recognised SLT degree or postgraduate equivalent.
• HCPC registration (licence to practise) required.
• Experience planning, assessing and implementing intervention.
• Knowledge of relevant assessment tools.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat children across Early Years, schools and complex needs services, working no more than two parts of the service.
• Deliver core and buy-in speech and language therapy caseload in pre-school, primary and secondary schools.
• Support school staff using a three-tier model of universal, targeted and specialist support.
• Deliver 1-1 dynamic assessments and intervention in clinics and nurseries.
• Run parent workshops and groups in Family hubs and children's centres.
• Deliver training for school staff and families.
• Work with children and families in clinic settings and/or specialist resource or special school settings.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary therapies team with dietitians, paediatricians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and specialist nurses.
