Paediatric Site Practitioner (PSP) – The Portland Hospital for Women & Children

Full time: 37.5 hours per week. Permanent. Shifts: Evenings, nights, two weekends per month 9% shift enhancement. Salary: £Competitive + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development).

We're looking for a Paediatric Site Practitioner (PSP) to join The Portland Hospital, currently rated "Good" by the CQC and the UK's only private hospital dedicated to the healthcare needs of women and children. Our team of Paediatric Site Practitioners offer 24/7 cover across our wards, supporting with the assessment and management of acutely unwell and deteriorating paediatric patients, escalating as appropriate into HDU/PICU.

As a Paediatric Site Practitioner, you'll provide a visible clinical presence around the site, acting as a role model and expert practitioner. We'll look to you to use your advanced nursing skill to co-ordinate resources and work closely with on-site Duty Managers.

Day-to-day you'll be involved in the PICU step-down process, admissions via outpatients and urgent care centre and support with bed allocation as a key member of the Clinical Emergency Team.

Out of hours, you'll be part of Paediatric Hospital at Night Team to ensure a timely and appropriate response to patients' needs. You will also be expected to support the ward staff with challenging situations. It's a varied role, where a wide range of clinical skills and good communication are key.
