Job summary

We are looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our Paediatric nursing workforce, which is essential in providing high-quality care to children and young people. As a senior staff nurse, you would support this vision, develop new staff, and work alongside the MDT in daily decision-making for children and young people. You will also have opportunities for professional development with guidance from your line manager and the Paediatric Development Team. Flexibility to cross-cover other sites to ensure a safe and effective skill mix across departments may be required.

Main duties of the job

  1. Highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse (Child) band 6 Senior Staff Nurse.
  2. Ensure the provision of high standards of holistic care for patients within your responsibility.
  3. Act as the designated deputy for the Sister/Charge nurse.
  4. Act as the operational manager in their absence.
  5. Support the assessment and supervision of student nurses and newly qualified nurses.
