Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Paediatric Rheumatology Substantive Consultant to provide expert care for children and young people with rheumatologic conditions. Responsibilities

• Support the clinical team in providing a high quality secondary and tertiary rheumatology service for children and adolescents in Oxfordshire, Thames Valley and neighbouring counties.
• Care for acutely unwell children and young people in paediatric and intensive care settings where diagnosis is uncertain or multispecialty input is required.
• Address complex autoinflammation, including periodic fever syndromes, hyperinflammation, HLH/MAS as part of the service.
• Support a comprehensive paediatric chronic pain service and collaborate with the rehabilitation programme director and team.
• Lead and participate in multidisciplinary meetings and develop clinical collaborations with paediatric services across Oxfordshire and neighbouring areas.
• Contribute to recruitment and data collection for the established research portfolio and to development of the research portfolio.
• Contribute to paediatric rheumatology training and teaching for postgraduate trainees; establish and develop sub-specialty training in paediatric rheumatology.
• Comply with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health recommendations for acute and specialty services for children.
