Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Children's Clinical Research Team here at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The post holder will be based across both Nottingham Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital sites. The role involves working on and delivering a range of projects specific to Children's Research.

The successful candidate will work closely with Principal Investigators to deliver research projects in Children's Research. They will be involved in all aspects of the clinical trial lifecycle, from study setup (including governance) and recruitment to study delivery and closure.

The post holder will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including consultants, practitioners, ward and clinic staff, clinical nurses, and specialist nurses. Experience in research is beneficial but training and support will be provided.

Main duties of the job
  • Support recruitment and delivery of Children's Research trials at NUH.
  • Participate in informed consent, randomisation, and treatment allocation processes.
  • Manage a caseload of CTIMP, device, and observational trials from conception to closure, ensuring effective communication within the team.
  • Identify and evaluate potential trial patients for eligibility.
  • Perform study-specific investigations as per protocol.
  • Conduct clinical tests such as venepuncture, ECGs, cannulation, urinalysis, and other assessments.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical study protocols and GCP guidelines, completing follow-ups as required.
