Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced Paediatric Research Nurse to join the NIHR Clinical Research Facility in Southampton. You will contribute to a wide range of paediatric studies, working with patients and healthy volunteers to advance future care.

You will work primarily Monday–Friday 8–4 with study-driven flexibility for evenings or weekends. The role offers development opportunities and ties to the University of Southampton.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Midwife on relevant part of the NMC register.
• Educated to Degree level, or equivalent.
• Evidence of ongoing professional / academic development.
• Mentorship qualification (or evidence of meeting the outcomes of the NMC standards)
• Clinical Skills certification relevant to role.
• Extensive post registration experience, including senior band 5 experience in clinical research or a relevant clinical speciality.
• Knowledge of the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care / ICH-GCP.
• Ability to teach and support learners in practice.

Responsibilities

• Work across paediatric research nursing within The Children’s hospital and community settings.
• Deliver clinical research in a fast-paced environment with patients and volunteers.
• Support research studies with flexibility for longer days, nights, and weekends as required.
• Collaborate with MDT and maintain high data quality and patient safety.
• Utilise IT and MS Office for study documentation and reporting.
