Job summary

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Band 7 clinical psychologist or practitioner psychologist to join the Paediatric Psychological Therapies Service. The role is part-time on a fixed-term basis for 23 months, based in a dynamic hospital setting with outpatient epilepsy and gastroenterology focus.

Qualifications

• Doctoral level training in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS/HCPC.
• Current registration with HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for children and families.
• Support outpatients with procedural anxiety, adjustment to diagnosis and emotional wellbeing.
• Complete risk assessments and implement management plans for psychological and emotional needs alongside medical conditions.
• Develop and deliver group interventions in collaboration with colleagues.
• Offer consultation, joint working and staff support within the multidisciplinary team.
• Supervise assistant psychologists and master’s students.
