University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Paediatric Practice Educator to provide clinical and educational support to the paediatric nursing workforce. The post holder will focus on supporting newly qualified nurses during their preceptorship year in collaboration with ward managers and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Qualified paediatric nurse with NHS experience.
  • Experience in preceptorship and education.
  • Commitment to CPD and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all Trust wide standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of total care to all who encounter the Children's Services.
  • Comply with health and safety legislation, promoting high standards and acting immediately in response to hazards or unsafe practices in conjunction with other staff.
  • Participate in team, professional and personal development activities and promote a commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.
  • Take on agreed duties in accordance with the grade and nature of the post.
  • Cover the work of colleagues during periods of absence or peak workloads.
  • Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the post as designated by the Group Director of Nursing / Modern Matron / Band 7 Practice Educator

Job description

The post holder will work within the senior paediatric nursing and paediatric practice education teams to provide both clinical and educational support to the paediatric nursing workforce. A key focus of the role is supporting newly qualified nurses throughout their preceptorship year.

In collaboration with ward managers, the post holder will play a significant role in supporting staff in the clinical environment to achieve required competencies. This includes working closely with multidisciplinary teams to plan training, facilitate development, and enable access to clinical learning opportunities beyond their designated clinical areas

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
